The Illinois State Water Survey’s Shallow Groundwater Wells Network collects data on shallow groundwater levels across the state.  These data allow scientists to assess both short-term and long-term trends in the water table which is useful for understanding the effects of climate on Illinois’ hydrologic cycle.
